Fiscal Federalism and Economic Development in Nigeria: An Econometric Analysis

This study examined the impact of fiscal federalism on economic development in Nigeria over period 1981 to 2020 using annual time series. Both revenue and expenditure decentralization were used as measures federalism. Analytically, employed autoregressive distributed lag approach. The result reveals that long run, have a positive significant Nigeria, many scholars validated this finding. finding shows true is better captured by both subnational decentralization. Given finding, suggests more power should be devolved state local governments through appropriate legislation.
